Threading & Waxing Pre & Post Care🔥
For: Brow, Lip, Chin, Full Face Threading | Facial Waxing | Body Waxing (Arms, Underarms, Legs, etc.)
📅 Pre-Treatment Instructions
To avoid sensitivity and ensure a clean, smooth result:
- Avoid retinol, AHAs/BHAs, or exfoliating acids for 3–5 days prior to facial waxing or threading.
- Hair should be at least ¼ inch long (about the length of a grain of rice) for effective waxing.
- Exfoliate the area gently 24–48 hours before body waxing (do not over-exfoliate).
- Do not shave the area for at least 1–2 weeks before your appointment.
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning, or heat on the area for 48 hours before.
- Clean skin only—please avoid applying creams, oils, or deodorant on the area being treated.
💆 What to Expect During Your Appointment
- Threading uses a twisted thread to remove hair at the follicle—perfect for brows and facial areas.
- Waxing uses warm or hard wax to quickly and effectively remove hair on larger or more sensitive areas.
- Some redness, sensitivity, or tingling is completely normal—especially on the face or underarms.
- Your esthetician will apply a calming product after treatment and give you personalized aftercare tips.
🧴 Post-Treatment Care Instructions
Care for the treated area gently to prevent irritation or breakouts:
- Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying makeup to facially waxed/threaded areas for 12–24 hours.
- Do not exfoliate, shave, or use active skincare for 3–5 days post-treatment.
- Avoid tight clothing or friction (especially for body waxing) for the first 24 hours.
- Skip workouts, saunas, or hot showers for 24–48 hours to reduce inflammation.
- Apply a soothing product like aloe vera or post-wax gel if needed.
- For underarms: avoid deodorant for at least 24 hours.
🌀 Normal Side Effects
- Redness, slight swelling, or bumps may appear for up to 48 hours.
- Mild itchiness or sensitivity is common (especially with coarse hair areas).
- “Wax pimples” or post-wax folliculitis may occur—keep the area clean and avoid touching.
- Threading can cause small pin-dot bleeding, especially if it’s your first time.
